This is an excellent opportunity for teachers to plan an exciting class trip with their students for an out-of-doors, hands-on living history experience that focuses on the Civil War period. Students and teachers will be able to view and participate in a variety of demonstrations that bring the Civil War to life including artillery and musket firing, cavalry, soldiers' food, drilling and marching, and a recruiting station. The setting is an open field with authentic tents and camps as well as uniformed reenactors representing both sides of the Civil War.
